Communications

One of the problems encountered while traveling as a full-time RVer is communications. I will say, for the most part, Verizon has done a good job of providing access to the internet. However occasionally when in a remote area communications become iffy, at best. On those rare occasions I have to rely on the campgrounds WIFI system to reach the outside world. Let me tell you relying on campground WIFI is a real hit or miss proposition. Where I'm located now I am on the very fringe of Verizon service with no bars showing on the meter, but I am just able to connect with 1X service which is about the same as dial-up speed. The campgrounds WIFI service is off more than it's on so I am very limited to what I can transmit. What this means is the blog has to be kept very simple ant uploading pictures is just out of the question right now. I'll try to continue to blog every day and hopefully the park owners will get their act together and service will improve on their end while I'm still here.


Yesterday I had my first area visitors knock on my door. Mike and Darrell, my two ex-brothers-in-law dropped by and we spent the afternoon catching up. 35 years ago when their sister and I decided to head separate directions their friendship never wavered and we have remained friends to this day. Something that I will be forever grateful for. Of course my ex and I are still good friends, too. It is possible.


Todays agenda is clear and some time will be spent planning the next jump when I leave here. My original plan was to head up to North Dakota, but with all the flooding they are having this year that is being reconsidered. Besides next year I have to go to South Dakota anyway to renew my drivers license so that might be a better time for that journey. Alternate destinations are being considered. No matter where I go I'll still be enjoying the good life.
