We are still enjoying the quiet here in the crossroads of America or I should say the quiet has returned. This morning the diesel pusher next to me started his engine and let it idle for over an hour while he attended to emptying the holding tanks, putting away the hoses and removing the electrical connection. after all this was done he continued to sit at idle while he piddled around for another half hours. Fortunately in the world of RVing this type of inconsiderate activity doesn't happen often. At least the mosquitoes are smoked out for the next few hours.
I am still waiting for the thunderstorms that were forecast to materialize. There are a few clouds but nothing threatening. I think I interrupted my travels for nothing. I've already paid for this evening so I will just sit and relax and watch the world go by on I-90. Of course this afternoon there will be new arrivals to meet and it's always fun to watch their efforts on getting situated. The most interesting are the ones who pull in and go through a complete set up of electric, water, sewer and patio furniture even though they are only staying the night. somehow they haven;t figured out that you really don't need all that stuff assembled if you're not going to use it. There are many nights when I pull in that all I hook up is the electric. I've got fresh water in the holding tank and I don't feel the need of going to the trouble of dragging out a bunch of hoses to empty the waste tanks. I guess some people are just such creatures of habit they can't break their routine. To each their own. It's still fun to watch and adds to enjoying the good life.
Reminds me of when a diesel pushed pulled in next to our tent camp at night while we were sitting around the campfire enjoying the sounds of nature. The first thing they did was fire up the gen-set so they could watch TV and run their microwave, so nice. Not to mention the unnecessary pollution that flows out the stack.
ReplyDeleteIt's unfortunate but they walk among us.
