I have moved to Reed Point Montana for the night. Reed Point is a nondescript town of 185 people, but it does have a small campground and is about halfway between Deer Lodge and The Custer Battlefield. Today's travels took us through Butte with a stop in Bozeman at the local Wal-Mart. We arrive in Reed Point just in time to enjoy a thunderstorm with accompanying pea sized hail. It is still trying to rain, but so far all it has done is raise the humidity. Reed Point is located on the Yellowstone river as it flows north to join the Missouri river. Today driving I-90 across Montana we were on the Lewis & Clark trail and we again crossed the continental divide at 6400 feet above sea level. We again encountered some long 6% grades, but Mel's performance was flawless.
We will decide in the morning whether to move on or spend another day here with a trip down to the Yellowstone river for some pictures. The rest of the day, which is about shot, will be spent trying to make a dent in the banana cream pie we bought at Wally World. Now that really is enjoying the good life.
