My arm is now stitch free and having those coarse threads out sure makes things feel better. This mornings adventure started with a bus ride to the central city and a transfer to a second bus to the doctors office. There they took a look and decided to remove the stitches on my arm and because it was showing some red where the stitches had irritated the wound decided to do a culture and prescribe an additional antibiotic. This might be a thinly veiled attempt to extend my stay, but I'm hoping not. Then it was back to the bus stop which I had missed by 10 minutes, this always seems to be the case, so rather than sit in the heat I grabbed the outbound bus and rode the entire route. At the transfer station I switched to the Wal-Mart bus and went to have my prescription filled. After that it was back on the bus to the transfer station and switch to a bus to take me home. Three hours on buses, but I did get to see parts of town that I had not seen before. I also saw another RV park that I'm going to have to explore as a potential winter home. One of the reasons this might become my winter home is the availability of Medical services, which are a lot harder to come by and for the most part 50 miles away in south Texas.
The rest of the afternoon will be spent replenishing the bodily fluids that leaked out in my morning travels in 100 degree heat. Dehydration is not a way to enjoy the good life.
Your observation on closer quality medical care is playing a big part in my current travels. I am looking for the "right" place to winter and get all the things done that old fat men need done. Be safe.
