Yesterday's walk

Yesterday I rode the bus back into the center of town. Having already explored the area to the west of the bus station, my feet directed me to the east. Well what I found was to the west and London Village are much more interesting  than to the east which has the town's medical facilities.
This is the Lake Havasu City Medical Center

The towns local hospital was completely surrounded by doctor's offices, dentists, physical therapy clinics and the usual assortment of medical related facilities. Not wishing to waste a trip when I saw a walk in clinic, I did just that. I had a mass on my arm that has grown rather quickly in the last four weeks and I decided to have it looked at. Past experience with skin cancers led me to believe we were dealing with more of the same. The doctor at the walk in clinic confirmed my diagnosis and referred me to a local dermatologist.who was able to see me today.

This mornings adventure was another bus ride to the center of town and then a half mile walk up the hill to the dermatologists office. After using close to a ream of paper to complete the necessary forms it was off to see the dermatologist. He also was wise enough to confirm my diagnosis, I'm batting a 1,000. We mutually agreed to make the doctors next house payment by removing the cancer that for the life of me I could not think of a reason to keep. So after a numbing session, it was a quick incision and the tumor was exercised, leaving a dime size hole in my forearm, just below the elbow.

Then it was a quick trip down the hill, back on the bus and a return to Mel before the Novocain  wore off. The rest of the day will be spent in some discomfort (my guess), but I still should be able to enjoy the good life.
