Moved on

After watching yesterdays ballgame I had a chat with the WalMart security man who was driving around the lot. He let me know that the city of Yuma didn't care for RVers. They have a city ordnance prohibiting anyone from staying in an RV after 8 pm anywhere in the city on public or private land with the exception of an approved RV park.  Fine $135.00. Welcome to Yuma. So I moved out of town to the Cocopah Indian Reservation. Indians fall into several groups, there are the hunters/gathers, the agrarian bands and the Nomads. The Cocopah's are of the Casino builders band and the have a nice one just outside of Yuma. I spent the night there and then headed north.

I am now in Lake Havasu Arizona. The drive up from Yuma was nice. First through the Yuma Proving Grounds and then along the Colorado river and through the mountains bordering it. I am now in a campground overlooking the Colorado River and intend to stay here a few days. Tomorrow I will walk down to the London Bridge and make sure it's not falling down and then I intend to explore the town.

I still have a few pictures from the Territorial Prison to share and here are today's offerings.
This is another view of the guard house.
The story of Yuma crossing.
The story of the sally port.
The sally port into the prison.
The cell blocks.
Hotel row. Six to a cell, not exactly first class.

Sometimes moving on is a better way to enjoy the good life.
