John and Gary spent the day yesterday clearing Falcon lake of fat fish, They each caught an eight pound 14 ounce largemouth bass and between them an additional 2 five pounders and 3 three pounders. Rhonda was down at the dock when they came in and got a picture of the big ones. At this rate there won't be anything left by the end of the season. The wind is kicking up today so the fishermen will be giving the fish a day off, but after yesterday they are chomping at the bit wanting to get back out on the lake.
This is what happy fishermen look like.
Yesterday the weekly Zapata County News hit the streets and there was a report on the marijuana we saw just before the parade on Saturday. The two pickup trucks contained 1,900 pounds of pot with a street value of $840,987.
One of the trucks loaded with the marijuana.
The same week the Laredo sector also intercepted amother shipment of marijuana worth $90,000 and a shipment of cocaine valued at $2,000,000. With that kind of money involved it's no wonder the cartels are at war with each other.
Today will be spent avoiding the wind in an effort to enjoy the good life.
