In the freezer

The cold that is gripping most of the nation has reached the deep south of Texas. We are currently 49 degrees and no sun is visible. My computer keeps beeping a weather alert to let me know the overnight low for tomorrow night is going to be 30 degrees. Maybe I was a little hasty in unloading my winter coat.

Last night Roger, Brenda, Max and Mary and I headed to Angels for supper. Roger and I were both struck by the Christmas decorations which consisted of colored 8X10 stencils hung around the room. Only in Zapata are the Christmas decorations stencils of sombreros, cowboy boots and cactus. It was colorful, though.

This morning I braved the chill and made my way to the office to sign up for Christmas dinner. I will again be providing the ammunition for mashed potatoes. At Thanksgiving we had 50 pounds of potatoes and ran a bit short. JoAnn said this will be corrected for Christmas.

Today our efforts will be directed at keeping warm so I can enjoy the good life.
