Special weather statement

Mel and my arrival at Elephant Butte has forestalled any chance of a drought here. Last night about midnight the thunderstorms rolled in accompanied by winds and lots of lightning and thunder. If you have never been in a thunderstorm when surrounded by mountains you have missed something. The thunder seems to roll across the hills and the lightning flashes off the mountains. It is quite spectacular. Today remains overcast with off and on rain showers. Yesterday it was 89 degrees, today the best we have been able to muster is 64. Quite a change.

Yesterday afternoon Chip the RV repairman and his son Corry arrived on the scene and began repairs on the plumbing problem. They assessed the problem and put in a shutoff valve to the toilet. Now I'm able to turn on the city water for the shower and the sink without worrying about the toilet overflowing. This will tide me over until the parts arrive to complete the repairs. Having mostly working plumbing is certainly an aid in enjoying the good life.

  2. Hi KennyB,

Did I mention the wind was blowing and the rain was coming down in buckets? Pictures would have required my presence outside. I guess I'm too wimpy to sacrifice for the cause.
