Bright and clear

Today dawned bright and clear with the thermometer dropping down to 44 degrees. We do have plenty of sunshine and it has climbed to 61 degrees and the hope is we'll make it into the 70's before the day is out.

A look at the mountains to the west of us shows how clear the air is today. Those mountains are around 25 miles distance from us.

Today's activity in the park is returning the top of the terrace to it's rightful place. Erosion is a big problem here in the southwest and with the recent rains we've had a good portion of the upper level has been transported to the lower level as you can see from the fence at the top of the picture.

This morning they brought in the big guns to move the terrace back in place. The also have brought in an additional two dump trucks of stone to help stabilize things, at least until the next rain. Watching all of this activity has just been another way to enjoy the good life.
