Bad news for Bay View

The campground got some bad news this morning. The Corps of Engineers has predicted a crest on the Mississippi river at Hannibal of 28.6 feet. This will make it the third worst flood in Hannibal's history. Unfortunately the levee that protects the campground is topped at 27 feet. So when the flood crest reaches here on the 16th or 17th the place where I'm staying will be under water. They have begun contacting owners to prepare to move their units to higher ground. A lot of the people here have storage buildings and a lot of patio furniture that will have to be moved. I guess I will be looking for another place to roost.
