I spent the morning touring Pioneer Village and will be going back this afternoon. There is so much to see. I stopped for lunch and to unload the camera which was full. Here are pictures of the first four buildings I saw this morning.

The Elm Creek Fort. Built in 1869 it was the first log cabin in Webster County and served as a
home and stockade against
Indian attacks.

Second floor of the fort.

First floor of the fort.

The Peoples store stocked with items from the pioneer days.

The inventory.

More of the inventory.

And the rest of the inventory.

The
Bloomington Land Office. This was where the pioneers filed their homestead claims.

The history.

Inside the land office.

The firehouse/jail.

The fire-fighting equipment.

The jail which was portable and could be set outside.
Accommodations for two.
