Heating up

It's starting to heat up in Zapata. Today it is supposed to be 92 and tomorrow we're looking at 100. I am planning a trip to Laredo tomorrow to restock. I was going Tuesday, but they are predicting 45 mile per hour wind gusts and I don't think Mel would feel too comfortable in those kinds of winds. One of the fellows that came in yesterday from Kansas had a stroke yesterday and was taken to the hospital. They said he had a stroke two or three weeks ago and then drove 500 miles yesterday to come here for a week. It caught up with him. My friend Jack, who had a light stroke a couple of weeks ago, is back home and doing well. The doctor told him not to drive for 5 to 6 weeks because of the chance of a relapse, too bad the fellow from Kansas didn't get the same advice. One thing for sure with this being a 55+ park and with people here into their 90's the paramedics know their way around here as well as anybody.
