Arkansas

217 miles today and I find myself just south of the Missouri bootheel at Blytheville Arkansas. I spent the morning exploring Ste Genevieve, the oldest city in Missouri. I then took a slow trip down old US 61 to Sikeston. Apparently they haven't done much to it since the Interstate opened and it was slow going. Tomorrow I should pass Memphis and I will check to see if Elvis is home. Once south of Memphis I plan to get back on US 61 and slow the pace a bit.

    Just think John, you may make the Gulf by the end of the year.

    we had an equipment malfunction the day you left and i decided you had the right idea. just think only 15 more years and i can head out. :-)
