Now on to PaT. A couple of pictures of the modifications I've made to make the Cruiser a bit more comfortable for travel.
Looking from the back through the hatch you can see the curtains that will cover the back window. The legs of the satellite dish are stowed alongside the platform bed and under the bed is a lawn chair and the tent. This are is also fitted with an inverter that will power the laptop, TV, DirectTV receiver and charger for the cellphone.
Looking through the rear door on the passenger side you can see the platform bed, the head of the satellite dish and the hanging clothes rack. Under the clothes on the floor is a cooler and on the seat will be my suitcase and travel bag. The bungee cord in the upper left corner of the picture is the track for curtains that completely enclose the inside for privacy.
Another view through the hatchback.
And the head pilots position.
You have really made PaT into quite the home on wheels. Looks like you're ready for Monday.
ReplyDeleteHave Cruiser will travel.
DeleteThis will be a great adventure for sure.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to covering some ground.
DeleteSorry about IU. I agree with you about the recruiting. Education doesn't seem very important when you can make the big bucks.
ReplyDeleteThere are a couple on IU that will probably go pro that would benefit from another year of college.
DeleteWow.. I didn't know you could do so much with so little. Good job. Glad you posted some pictures. I just couldn't image how you were going to do everything.
ReplyDeleteIndiana did have a super season. I had them in the final two. We knew anything might happen this year.
I, too, think it is terrible that the pros don't leave these young kids alone. I guess money talks.
Congratulations on Ohio pulling one out last night, I will have to support the Big 10 the rest of the way. Especially since Barkley is showing no respect for the Big 10.
DeleteCruising in the Cruiser will be the theme this summer.
Well aren't you clever!! I never would have thought you could make a Cruiser into a mobile motel room LOL! Have a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteLooks good on paper, we'll see how it works out.
DeleteThank you so much for posting pictures and letting us get a peek at your new accommodations.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome.
DeleteThere may be a head pilot's position, but there is no 'head'! Eek! Guess I'm too old for that!
ReplyDeleteBathrooms are everywhere, as evidenced by your trips through the swamps.
DeleteNice job!! You used every cubic inch of space with a little left over.
ReplyDeleteI saved enough room to sneeze.
Deletejust a little bit too close!!! Have a happy Easter and be safe.
ReplyDeleteYou've been spoiled.
DeleteGreat job! You fit it all and still have room.
ReplyDeleteMy seats don't go down flat like yours. Or I would have been doing the same thing over the winter.
Now for all the adventures to come.
I had a little practice when I outfitted the sleeper in my semi that was home for 12 years.
DeleteVictor Oladipo at IU, graduates this May 2013, in 3 years. Zeller has only 3 semesters to complete to get his Business Degree and 2 of those semesters are required to be on campus. I look for him to come back next year.
ReplyDeleteI really believe another year would benefit Zeller and help him polish his game. He's a little weak against the good inside men. I think Victor is ready and with his smarts should have a good career.
DeleteWhat? No Hot Tub? You really will be living the Bohemian lifestyle... ;c)
ReplyDeleteAbout as primitive as I can get.
DeleteLooks like you've got the bases covered but what about cooking. You never mentioned any sort of stove.
ReplyDeleteI never cooked when I was driving truck over the road. Cooler on board for prepared food and restaurants will again become my best friend.
DeleteHey John, I think you need one of these for PaT, http://www.gizmag.com/hotello-portable-hotel-room/26795/?utm_source=Gizmag+Subscribers&utm_campaign=ff3b457110-UA-2235360-4&utm_medium=email
ReplyDeleteThe tent I'm packing will be close enough.
DeleteNice set up in the PT Cruiser. I leave NC on Monday for the far west. I'll be living in my Mercury Grand Marquis, in a fashion similar to your set up. I took out the back and passenger seat, built a bed and I'm ready to roll. I'll watch your blog for tips and solutions to the problems of living in a car.
ReplyDeleteRob
Hope it works better for you. If I were younger I'm sure I could have made it work.
