New app

The big rage in electronics these days seems to be the Kindle. Amazon reports it's the number 1 gift item they have. Well the other day I was exploring Kindle and I will have to say the idea of paying $189.00 for a portable electronic book didn't trip my trigger. However I did find they also have an application for the PC that costs zero dollars which is more compatible with my budget. I now have the ability to read any Kindle product on my computer.
There are a lot of books out there to choose from and lots of them are reasonably priced or even better, free. I've started with Mark Twain. His boyhood home was four blocks from where I grew up so I really feel I should read some of his writing. The Kindle price for the Complete Works of Mark Twain has set me back $.99 and will provide hours of reading enjoyment. In addition my library now includes the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and The Autobiography of Mark Twain. Total cost to date is under $10.00. This makes a nice addition to my mobile lifestyle, as I can carry a complete library without sacrificing any space.

Today the day started at 48 degrees with a 20 mile an hour wind that made stepping outside a waker-upper. I worked on a computer this morning for a neighbor and the rest of the day will be spent waiting for a the warm-up.  It is easy to tell when the temperature gets close to 70. This is when activity will begin and people will emerge out from their cocoons. Then we will start enjoying the good life in the sunshine.
