The chill continues

Very little activity is happening in the park today as winter continues. The temperature is only up to 62 degrees and folks don't appear in large numbers until we hit the 70 degree mark. It looks like that might not happen today. The good thing is it's Saturday which means lots of sports to keep us company as we hunker down.

One of the things that will keep my interest today is a look at my internet service. When I got internet satellite 3 years ago there weren't too many alternatives for service for mobile travelers. Mobile service has improved over the last three years to the point where it looks like coverage is available in enough of the country that that it has become a viable alternative. So this weekend a decision will be made to switch or not to switch.

The rest of the day I will be keeping myself occupied with enjoying the good life.

  1. John, When I got my sprint aircard in Nov 2007 I was not really sure it was a great way to go. However now I get useable signal almost everywhere whether there are trees or not. If you stay out of the trees dish systems are likely still better. It just depends on your locations and needs. Mine is unlimited service but the newer ones are 5 gig limited. I have never used more than 2 gig in a month.

  2. I have had excellent air card service with Verizon. The only poor connections that I have had were at two camps near St George, UT. Even there I was getting a 4 bar signal but the Bandwidth was so loaded down that transmission was 'dial up slow'.
