That kind of day

This morning we didn't get the best start in the world. As usual my first job was to kick on the water heater for the morning shower. It was then off to the computer to read the morning news while waiting for the water to heat. This is where the first problem showed up. The computer is crawling at slower than dial-up speed. A check showed that sometime after I had gone to bed there apparently was a huge update from Microsoft that caused me to exceed Hughes.nets Fair Access Policy which means I will be slowed down for the next 24 hours as a punishment. While waiting for the news to download I hear the water heater shut off and then try to reignite. A sure sign that I have run out of propane. This was quickly remedied by switching to electric and everything went well from there. After the shower I checked the propane and sure enough the gauge was sitting to the south of empty. A quick call to the propane man brought immediate results and he was filling me up within a half hour. Great service. The rest of the morning was spent doing three loads of laundry and now I've finally got a chance to sit down and eat lunch.

This afternoon will be conducted at a slower pace although I do have to prepare Mel for a trip to Laredo tomorrow. My cupboard currently has a striking resemblance to Mother Hubbard's. even with all this activity I will still take time to enjoy the good life.
