Postponed

Today's trip to Laredo has been postponed by the weather. We are enjoying kite flying weather today with wind gusts in the 30 mile per hour range. Mel decided it would be better to go another day rather than fight the wind. I deferred to his judgment.

So today another project was decided on. I just got a new high tech (go figure, John with another high tech device) USB medical card from Amazon.com called an ICE Medical USB card. It is about the size of a credit card and has a pop out USB connector that allows it to be plugged into a computer. There is a program on the card that allows you to enter emergency medical information including most of your medical history, contact information, medical directives and like information. The card is about the size of a credit card and will fit easily in the wallet. Today will be spent adding information to the card so it will be ready for an emergency.

The red part is the pop out USB connector.

I guess the rest of the day will be spent swaying to and fro as the wind does it's thing. Rock and roll is just another part of enjoying the good life.

  1. Hi John,

I'm just catching up after 3 weeks w/o the laptop -- they replaced the motherboard.

I want to mention that ICE = "In Case of Emergency" and started as an EMS-based concept that included putting a typewritten piece of paper with all the necessary contact info and medical history inside of an old pill bottle and stashing it in freezer of your refrigerator with a sticker to put on the outside with a big red cross and the ICE logo. While I applaud the modernization you have, I still think it is a good idea for you to store the info in a pill bottle or ziplock bag in your freezer in the event if you were unconscious or otherwise unable to communicate with first responders.

I've been enjoying catching up with your life, so keep on working on having the good life.
