Elvis has left the planet

And so has Mr. Acer. After four memory dumps and reboots on Thursday and Friday another call to Acer was made and the tech finally agreed with me that it was a hardware problem and not a software issue. They wanted me to return it to their repair center at my expense to resolve the issue. I instead choose to go back to Amazon and received the type of service that reaffirms my faith that some company's still do things the right way. Amazon is sending me a new computer over night and has arranged for a pickup of the defective computer by UPS all at no cost to me. I think amazon has gained one very satisfied customer for life.

Today we woke up to 46 degrees and the first monthly flea market. I made the trip over to the rec hall to see if there were any fleas I needed. I was immediately drawn, like a magnate, to the Just for Kids booth which is a project by the park residents to buy school supplies and clothes for needy kids in the community.

Not wanting to disappoint any needy kids and with minimal arm twisting I pitched right in and secured some nice treats for later in the day.

The Quilts for Kids group is also active again this year in the park and they had some samples of their work on hand . They are always looking for donations to support their project and if anyone is interested in donating they can contact me by email. Last year they produced 350 quilts to be given to the patients at St. Judes Childrens Hospital in Memphis. Each kid is given a security blanket as they check in to the hospital to begin treatment.

The quilt shown here is being raffled of f as a fund raiser to support their efforts.

A silent auction is being held to find a new home for this quilt. Make a bid if you'd like.

The traffic started a little slow this morning, but picked up later in the morning and for the first market of the season things went well.

Next project for the day is some football, watching the thermometer rise into the 80's and enjoying the good life.
