Association meeting

Last night was a late night as I stayed up until 3 am getting Mr. Acer up and running again. The late night is required to avoid the Hughes, net time out for excessive downloads in a 24 hour period and to take advantage of the free download time from 1 am until 6 am.

This morning was rise and shine for a Rec Association meeting. The new management of the park faced a question and answer session where the questions about the direction of the park under the new management were coming hot and heavey. Unfortunately the responses were not as forthright as we hoped and people were left wondering where the park is really headed. There was a good crowd in attendance, because everyone is interested, but it's not sure from the meeting that even management knows where we are going.

The crowd gathers in the rec hall for the meeting. Considerering how early it is in the season the attendance was significant.

Yesterday on the trip back from Laredo I did stop at a scenic overlook to get a look at the Rio Grande river and noticed that the high water had backed the water clear up here to which is about 50 miles from the dam.

Lookin north on the Rio Grande towards Laredo.

Straight across the river into Mexico. You can tell from the submerged vegatation the increased width of the river.

Looking south toward the Falcon Dam which is 50+ miles to the south.  During normal levels you could walk across the river at this point.

This afternoon will be spent visiting with the folks and avoiding the wind which has kicked up today. A siesta might be in order later on to recover from my late night activity and all in al it will just be a matter of enjoying the good life.

  1. Please keep us posted on the direction of the new ownership. My hopes are not very high.
