Morning walk

This morning the usual group of suspects met on the patio for coffee and to solve the world problems. I'm happy to report that the get together was successful and most of the major problems have been solved. After the forum it was decided a walk around the park was in order. While walking attention was paid to the landscaping and several pictures were taken of things in bloom. As most of you know I am several steps below a master gardener, as a matter of fact placing gardener any where near my name would be a huge disservice to gardeners everywhere. So if you don't care for the names I've attached to the various flowers feel free to use your own.
This is a pot of flowers located right outside of the office. A number of different flowers are observed thus this pot defies description.
These of course are pink flowers, everyone knows that.
And red ones are pretty easy to spot.
This is a variety of cactus and it appears it is attempting to bloom. Cactus is easy to tell, because if you get to close it will hurt you. as a matter of fact most plants in the Southwest come equipped with the means to inflict pain.

I asked at this mornings get together if anyone had a copy of the plan for the day, a couple did, but they failed to share it so I'll have to wing it the rest of the day. One event will be the arrival of the mail. I'm waiting for a package from Isleta, NM which is about 100 miles up the road and was shipped last Tuesday. Also, my mail should be arriving today from South Dakota. When you're retired watching for the mail becomes an event and it's just another part of enjoying the good life.

  1. The cactus that you have pictured is WAY past the blooming stage. The red 'pears' that you see are the fruit of the cactus which is a variety of 'prickly pear'.

I want you to know that I am such an expert on flowers that this is the first of ALL your flower pictures I was able to help.
