Desert Storm Shootout

Today is a much better day than yesterday and the boats have hit town. This weekend is the Desert Storm Shootout and Poker Run on the lake and boats are coming in from all over. So I took a walk down to the river to see what all the excitement was about. These boats are of the high priced sport/show boat variety and many of them sported matching tow vehicles. The investment is more than significant. I haven't reminded you lately, but double clicking on any picture will enlarge it to full screen and some of these boats are worth a full screen look.
As I started my walk I was unaware of what was happening this weekend. The first clue was walking by the convenience store where every pump was filled with boats gassing up for a day on the water.
Then on down the street to Windsor Beach State Park and the launch area.
This is one of the boats headed to the launch area.
This is the line waiting to pay their $15.00 launch fee to get into the Park.
Boats in the water and the launch ramp.
A serious contender from Camdenton Missouri.
Another view of the big boy.
On my way back home another serious contender goes by. $100,000 trucks pulling $1,000,000 boats is quite a sight to see.

I expect it will be a noisy day on the lake tomorrow and if the weather cooperates I'll be down at the riverside enjoying the good life.
