Today started off a bit chilly and I was out at 7:30 to see Patt and Don off as they began their trip to home in northeast Iowa. We are now down to seven units on the street with two more leaving in the next couple of days. It is really getting sparse around here.
Yesterday afternoon there was a bit of excitement here in the park. For the second time in the last couple of weeks what appeared to be a Mexican military helicopter violated our airspace. he flew over the point to the north of us hovered awhile then turned and flew over the park before heading back to Mexico. Several people reported the incident to authorities and the sheriffs department sent deputies out to take witness statements.I was able to take a couple of pictures as the chopper flew away and they were turned over to the authorities.
The helicopter heading back towards Mexico. There is much speculation as to why this has happened twice in the last two weeks.
Today will be time for more preparations, some visiting and generally just enjoying the good life.
