Tuesday is $1.00 hamburger night at the local Stars drive-in so I rode up with the Mattoon gang. Roger, Brenda and Max, and we all filled our bellys with dollar burgers. It was a little chilly on the patio, but we managed to devour what was placed in front of us. I had a burger, small onion rings and a medium cola. After seeing the size of the order I was glad I didn't order the large.
Check out the size of the onion rings.
This mornings walk around the park gave me time to visit with a lot of people who had come out to see the sun and enjoy the mid-60 degree temperatures. A couple of pictures were taken and the walk completed.
The most interesting sight was this heron who has apparently bought a boat to assist in his fishing.
Speaking of fishing, tomorrow starts the big bass tournament of the year for Falcon Lake. 200 to 250 boats are expected. Motel and campground space is at a premium this weekend and it will be almost impossible to get in a restaurant Friday or Saturday. Just more people coming to Zapata to enjoy the good life.
You will have to tell your friends from Matoon to look us up if they ever get to Decatur. If you think your weather is bad come back north. This cold never seems to end and now we are supposed to get another 5-7 inches of snow Sunday. I am ready to join you in Zapata!!!
