After reaching 102 degrees here yesterday a front blew in from the north last night and with it came some cooler temperatures (68 degrees). When I say blew in, that's just what I mean, winds are gusting to 35 miles an hour and as a precaution I took the flag down before it blew down. Again there is plenty of topsoil in the air and it leaves a not so fine coating of of dust on everything. I'm sure glad it's a basketball day to keep my attention.
I also started the morning off with a quick trip to Walmart to stock the pantry for the week. I'm walking a fine line on food purchases because when I leave next week I want the refrigerator to be empty so I can shut it down for the summer. As a matter of fact I plan to completely shut Mel down for the summer, with everything disconnected until I get back in the fall. After all Mel is entitled to a vacation, too.
With the wind howling it is a good thing there is plenty of basketball on TV today to help me enjoy the good life.
