Monday, Monday

Nothing special about today. The Whitewater/Baldy fire has grown to 241,701 acres, but so far most of the smoke has either gone north or south of us so we've dodged that bullet.

Today's event will be the arrival of the UPS man with 64 ounces of Calgon water softener. I once used the Geo Method of keeping the holding tanks clean, but the big drawback was finding the Calgon necessary for the procedure. About every 5th Wal-mart carried it, but never the one in the area where I had just run out. I finally just stopped doing it and resorted to the chemical method. Well the other day I happened to check and sure enough they stock it, so I'm back in business. Previous experience tells me this system works and it's cheaper than all the RV chemicals that are on the market. The other item on the truck today is the cheapest hair dryer on the market. Why you might ask would a man who cuts his hair to one sixteenth of and inch want a hair dryer. Well, here's the deal as soon as it arrives it will be renamed from hair dryer to electronic refrigerator defrosting machine. This should speed up the completion of my second least favorite job (after laundry) in the world.

A couple of pictures from the hummingbird feeders at Fort Craig.

There is also an afternoon ballgame to keep me occupied while waiting for UPS which means there is plenty to do while enjoying the good life.

  1. I love hummingbirds. None in this area though.

When we had our Norcold refrig, we used my hair dryer for the same purpose. Did the trick.

    1. I have a feeling that the hair dryer will work faster than me just blowing my hot air into the freezer, some might disagree.

  2. OH John, your not full of hot air. well maybe just a little.
I was looking for one the other day at Wally world and couldn't believe the pices. I don't need it for me either. It's for Fred. On bath days.

    1. More hot air than you might imagine.

Amazon. com had the one I got for around $10.00.

  3. Yup... great use for a hairdryer, and
Yup... we use GEO and Calgon too!
