Today we will see most of Clay's family head out towards home and as things slowly return to normal I did want to say a kind word about the folks that run this RV park. Martha and Bob and their staff of workcampers really stepped up for Clay and his family to the point of just being another part of the family. They made the rec hall and kitchen available and the Park provided the meat for the carry in after the memorial service. Other things were done behind the scenes to accommodate the family and all in all they just went out of their way for Clay and his family. It sure gives you a warm feeling to know that these folks put business aside to make things happen in the right way.
The rest of today will be spent visiting as folks get ready to head out and then it's Cardinals/Cubs baseball later today. There are sure a lot of ways to enjoy the good life.
That is sure nice of those folks to do all that. Maybe you should do a blog with pictures about the park and give them a little plug.
ReplyDeleteKenny, most of the rust pictures and flowers in posts I have done while staying here are in the archives. I'm usually here in May and September. Tomorrow I'll include the parks website for you.
DeleteI'd like to read a post like Kenny suggests too.
ReplyDeleteOH...Go Cubs!!
Judy, the Cubs are already saying wait until next year, which is the teams mantra. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt sure makes you feel good to know there are still wonderful people that will go the extra mile to help folks.
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of folks like that in the RV community.
DeleteI agree....
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing the park owners did. It is hard enough when you loose a loved one so when people step in to help it really means a lot.
ReplyDeleteMary M.
That's a lot of what the RV community is all about, Mary Michael.
DeleteI agree, that's really nice of the park's management to go above and beyond. And thank you for sharing a little sunshine by posting such a positive experience.
ReplyDeleteThat's my favorite type of experience to share Donna.
DeleteThe RV Park sure did go above and beyond for this family. That was really nice.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of your day proved to be enjoyed.
Jo, it's just that kind of place.
DeleteIt's a great park to do that. My Mom works at a family owned RV park. The owner treats everyone like family. Sure makes the RV lifestyle so much more pleasant. But always hard to say goodbye to those you cherish.
ReplyDeletePart of the beauty of this lifestyle is the wonderful people you come across.
DeleteJohn - you are so right about the wonderful folks at Cedar Cove! I've never felt so welcomed and cared for in any time - let alone one of our hardest times. I discovered what friendship, neighbors and community are at their best. You're blog is great! I'm a dedicated new follower and look forward to more tales! All our best!
ReplyDeleteKitty, thanks for the kind words. I will pass them on to Martha and Bob and their staff. As you can see from the comments the RV community is a special group.
