Well my new GPS arrived today, but not without a lot of help from Amazon. The original order was placed on October 16th and was shipped from Hebron Kentucky on the 21st. The order arrived in Falfurrias last Wednesday the 26th according to the tracking information. It then, which happens with most of my orders, went into a black hole never to be seen again. I contacted Amazon by email yesterday in within an hour they had placed a second order and upgraded shipping to overnight. The GPS I ordered was the new Rand McNally RVND 7710 which was introduced on October 15th and is designed specifically for RV's. It allow you to program in your RV's height and weight and then routes you on routes that will accommodate your size vehicle. It also has RV friendly information or points of interest including campground, fuel stops, Wal-marts and many more. I will evaluate it and let everyone know what I think of it.
This is the 7" main map screen.
And this is the trip information screen.
The rest of the afternoon will be spent figuring out how to make all this technology work for me. Playing with this stuff is always a way for me to enjoy the good life.
Nice big screen. Does lots of neat things too. I"ll let you figure it out and then I will ask you how it works if I buy one. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteI worked with it today and it's what you might call feature rich. Going to Wal-mart tomorrow so I'll give it a road test.
