What a game

If you didn't watch the World Series last night you missed a game that will be talked about for a long, long time. The Cardinals just refuse to die. This is the team that was 10.5 games out of first place on September 1st and has played with their backs to the wall ever since then. Last night they were down 3 runs and came back, then they were down two runs and came back. They were down to their last strike two different times and came back and finally they managed to win it in the 11th inning with a walk off home run. Tonight is the last game of the 2011 season and the championship is on the line. It remains to be seen if the Cardinals can win their 11th title in (20)11, but it's going to be fun to watch.

Yesterday afternoon we began an abrupt weather change. The wind started blowing in the 20 to 30 mph range in an attempt to move the  dust from the construction site to the west of us into Mel's interior after it was just cleaned. It's the south Texas equivalent of a rain after a car wash in other parts of the country. The cold front that came through is the remains of the front that left 4 inches of snow in the Texas panhandle. The temperature right now is in the 60's and the wind is still blowing in the 30 mph range. It looks like a good day of staying close to home and preparing for tonight's ball game. If the wind would die down a bit it would make it a lot easier to enjoy the good life.
