This morning I was invited to share lunch with Marilyn and Loren at the Country Club as George's guest. Loren stopped by about 11:30 local time and off we went. I was a little concerned because the ball game was scheduled to begin at 12: 45 local time. However, the worry was needless as the weatherman in St. Louis was kind enough to arrange a two hour rain delay. Just about the time I arrived back at Mel the game was just beginning and to this point the results have been good with the Cardinals leading 4 to 1 in the top of the 7th. If the Cardinals win today they will have closed within one game of the wildcard. Go Cards.
I will spend the rest of the afternoon cheering the Cards while digesting my patty melt and onion rings. Eating at the Country Club with friends is always a good way to enjoy the good life.
