This morning Loren and I went out and checked the preparations that were being made around town for Elephant Butte days that will be happening tomorrow and Sunday. The highlight will be the hot air balloon activities. With the big Balloon Fest in Albuquerque in just three weeks this has become sort of a preliminary event. There ought to be plenty of activity tomorrow, weather permitting. They will also be having a parade, a quilt show and a wood carvers show. In addition they are having a car show and lots of activities for the kids. Probably it will be a busy day around here.
I have become tired just thinking of all the activity, maybe I'll use the rest of the day to recover. I don't want to overdo things because that would detract from enjoying the good life.
No you sure don't want to get to tired before all the really good stuff happens. Love the balloons we used to have them in Tucson before some one bought up all the property and built stinkin houses on it.

Hope we have a flight, wind picked up this afternoon and we'll just have to wait and see if they fly.
ReplyDeleteThe 30th Annual Great Reno Balloon Race is also this weekend Sept 9-11. There will be over 100 Balloons with many of them going to Albuquerque from Reno.
ReplyDeleteI'm in Albuquerque now and have seen a few flying during this past week. Most mornings have had too much wind. I will be gone when the Fiesta starts but after seeing Reno's for many years it is not worth it to me to stay.
