Settling in

Well we are settling into our spot and preparing for a weeks stay. This morning was spent cleaning house on the inside. After Mel's bath yesterday, which did in fact bring rain last night, we decided the inside needed sprucing up. Things are looking better.

Today the mountains are covered in clouds so there are no pictures available, a check of the extended forecast shows rain is expected the next five days. There should be a lesson relating to washing Mel there somewhere. I did manage to get a few pictures last night in the twilight and here is what I saw.

Looking more toward the north. The rain falling from the clouds and not making it to the ground is a very common sight out here. It's called virga. Because of the low humidity the rain actually evaporates on the way to earth. However, when Mel's wash job was detected by the clouds an extra effort was made and some of the rain proceeded to reach Mel.

Todays activities will be limited to staying close to home. With a possibility of getting a few pictures of the area if the weather cooperates. Sitting is sometimes the only way to enjoy the good life.
