Today's travels took Mel into another new state. We are now in Huntington Oregon. We are in a small campground on the banks of the Snake River and will be here for about a week while all the excitement of the Fourth of July passes. Today's travel followed the Oregon Trail along the Snake river, with a stop in Mountain to fill the pantry. As I drove it was easy to imagine the early pioneers crossing this country in covered wagons. The 160 miles I made today would have been more than a weeks travel for them and not one Wal-Mart to stop at. Those people were tough. Here's a few views from the campground.
This is looking north from the campground.
This would be east.
Looking down the row, which will soon be filled with campers, toward the river.

I don't know, friend, but it seems you have a rough life 8-)

Nice campground.
ReplyDeleteMakes me wish I was back up there----in the warm weather time.
ReplyDeleteHey John, you're getting close. Next week when you leave turn left instead of right and you can add another new state to your map. Go a little further north and west and you can visit us on beautiful Whidbey Island :-)
