A cold front moved through last night and lowered our temperature to a much more comfortable level. I guess I've been here too long when I start thinking 70 degrees, which is the current temperature, is cool. My neighbors who have been here longer than I have are wearing jackets.
During the recovery process I have too much time on my hands and it's mostly been wasted away on the computer. One of the things I ran across in reading newspapers around the country was the violence around the southern border areas of the country. One item of of interest concerned the area around Falcon Lake where I spend the winter. American fishermen who venture to the Mexican side of the lake are being attacked by pirates. Read the story here. This could really hurt the economy of Zapata which relies heavily on the fishing tournaments that are held on Falcon Lake.
This afternoon we are supposed to have winds so I imagine the dust will be blowing and the neighbors might have to get out the winter coats. I'm going to enjoy the cool temperatures this afternoon and attempt to enjoy the good life.
