Last Flea Market

The last flea market of the season was held today and the highlight of the day was the display of the quilts turned out for the kids of St. Judes Hospital. The quilters group met there goal of 350 quilts and it makes quite a display when they are all hung on the stage.

Quilts on display.
Another view of a really worthwhile effort.

There are also several garage sales in operation around the park today. Most of them are by people who aren't coming back next year. So there are bargains galore. Unfortunately the weather this morning has kept the crowds down, there is a real possibility that tomorrow there will be even better bargains. Today's weather is a continuation of yesterday's Zapata mist. Not enough to count as rain, but enough to leave everything damp and the streets wet.

Last night Roger, Larry and I went to Angel's for supper. About half of the restaurant was filled with people from the park. When I got home Jean stopped by to let me know that she and Pete had just gotten back from the 1st Annual Kansas Night Out. They had 33 people from the park gather at La Hacienda Restaurant. Now we know why the park was so quiet last night.
