Yesterday was sugar rush day at 4 Seasons. First at 1 o'clock we gathered in the rec hall to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of Vern's 18th birthday. His family came in from Connecticut, California and Kansas to celebrate with him.

After the birthday party Annis came around with a young Girl Scout selling cookies so another ration of sugar was purchased. Like that was needed, but it was justified as supporting a good cause and doing my civic duty.
Then it was time to harass Woody. Woody and his wife Jean come down every year from St. Louis to spend vacation time with their friends Gary and Pat. Gary is an avid fisherman so this year Gary created the all new "double barreled" fishing rod. Gary thought two reels would help Woody keep up with Gary in the fish catching department.

Later in the evening it was time to gather in the rec hall for some more ice cream and cake. This time the excuse was the regular monthly celebration of birthdays and anniversaries for people in the park. We always do two months, this time the celebration was for February and August. This covers everyone through the year, even the times when we aren't here.

A pretty good crowd was in need of refreshments.
All in all, yesterday was a pretty busy day of enjoying the good life.
