Actual rain

Today we are having actual rain in Zapata. The kind that makes puddles and everything. As with everything else here in south Texas the rain was slow getting here. It started with lightning last night around midnight, but it was 2 am before the thunder caught up. Then at 4 am we had 12 drops of rain, three of which landed on my face through the open bedroom window. The rest of the rain finally got here about 9:30. Everyone in the park has gone to their cave to wait out the 'storm'. I think today will be spent catching up on my reading.

Note the actual puddles and running water. Another hour of this and FEMA will probably be called in and Zapata will have doubled it's rainfall total for the year.
