Nervous time
Today's plan was to drive a couple hundred miles and over night at Boise City, Oklahoma. When we arrived at Boise City we found no services so it was on to Dahlhart, Oklahoma, nothing there so we keep going. Just as Mel's gas gauge hit a quarter full we came across a sign that said 'no services next 75 miles'. This is heading west with rising elevation. Needless to say my neck got stiff switching my view from the gas gauge to the Garmin miles to go reading. Just as the gauge got into the red we hit Tucumcari and Mel got a big drink of fuel. About $100.00 of drink. One thing you learn when driving a motorhome is how many stations have driveways that will only accommodate cars and pickup trucks. Anything bigger just won't fit. We are safe for the night and just waiting to see what tomorrow brings.
