Travels chores
This morning was spent on a couple of chores getting things ready for the road tomorrow. The most difficult one and the one I dislike the most was airing up the tires. First the wheel covers have to be removed, not too bad. then the Pressure Pro caps are removed, so far so good. Now the fun begins. You have to endeavor to get air into the tires, this is especially difficult on the inside duals on the back axle where the valve stem is located in such a way that the air chuck just doesn't want to match up through the 3" diameter hole in the outside rim. After the tires are aired up it's then a matter of getting the Pressure Pro caps back on. Generally this will require me to assume a prone position a couple of times to retrieve the cap that has slipped out of my fingers and dropped between the two wheels. After the caps are securely fastened it is time to replace the wheel covers. Theses are over sized hub caps that have a mind of there own. They are held to the rim by tension that requires the cover to be evenly inserted on all side at the same time. Hit one side and the other pops out. Pretty soon you're playing a game of tag around the rim, hitting one side and watching the other side pop out. Eventually I hit the magic spot and the rim is in locked in position and the job is complete. Total time to air six tires, just a little over an hour. This doesn't allow for the medical treatment to repair the scrapes on the knuckles and forearm. Just another part of living the good life.
