Carrizo Springs, Texas

I have moved to Carrizo Springs, Texas and am now within 200 miles of Zapata. I now expect to arrive at my winter home sometime Saturday. Plenty of sunshine today and the temperature is already 70. I was checked by the Border Patrol on the way here. Good to see them at work. After visiting Judge Bean's home yesterday I discovered what a character he was. One story was after a railroad bridge construction accident, in which 10 men fell to the ground , Judge Bean was called to officially pronounce the deceased. He promptly pronounced all ten dead, even though three had survived, saying "they are going to die anyway and I don't want to make a second trip out. They surprised him by surviving. Here are a few more pictures from yesterday.

Judge Bean's home. It is not an Opera house, town hall or seat of justice, he posted that to impress Miss Lily Langtry.

The view from the front of the house. The Pecos river is under the cliffs.
