The Stuhr Museum

Last Friday I went to the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer in Grand Island. It consists of two buildings of artifacts and a 1860's log cabin settlement, a 1890's railroad town, a 1893 farmstead and a Pawnee earth lodge. Here are some pictures.

The main building.

The dedication plaque.

The Gus Fonner Rotunda houses collections of American Indian and Old West memorabilia. No photography was allowed in this building.

The museum grounds is crossed by part of the Mormon trail.
