Tour to Roma

Sister Kate and her husband Jim and I went east to Rio Grande City and Roma this morning. We were a little disapointed as none of the shops were open, well Wal-Mart was open, but that wasn't what we were looking for. We went into old town Roma and took a look around. Roma is a border crossing town dating back to the mid 1700s and is very historic. The border crossing was very busy this morning.

The bridge into Mexico. That is the Rio Grande river and is the border between the US and Mexico. I think I could swim it.

Looking into Mexico.

The plaza in Romo. To the left is the old hotel and in the center is the Catholic church. The bell tower is from the original chuch and it was restored when they built the new church
