I almost lost my mind, it was a near miss, but I finally looked at the calendar and realized that today and tomorrow is the end of a long weekend for many. This means that the roads will be filled with lots of folks rushing home hell bent to run over you if your get in their way. Having already paid for my spot here in the park through Wednesday I reevaluated my plans and decided Monday will be a better launch day.
The other factor involved is today and tomorrows Cardinal games which will happen right after lunch each day. Sometimes just avoiding the everyday rush is a way to enjoy the good life.
I try really really hard to remember when holiday week-ends happen so that we are planted somewhere. But sometimes it just slips right on by me. So now I'm planning around the Labor Day week-end.
ReplyDeleteWith our life style were aren't as apt to be calendar watches and these things just sneak up on us.
DeleteWhoa! Don't want you to miss your Cardinals fix! ;c)
ReplyDeleteGotta have it Paul.
DeleteNo worry, all the weekenders are packed into this area. I have never seen it so thick with folks. Might be time for this to be on my "done that don't go back" list.
ReplyDeleteI figure they will all be hitting the road tomorrow.
DeleteJust the two rigs here on the refuge for the holiday weekend, and no fireworks are allowed. :)
ReplyDeleteThe rest of the rigs seem to be running through this part of the country.
DeleteGood thinking!! We never travel on holidays weekends if we can avoid it, especially Sunday after a three or four day weekend. People drive crazy!
ReplyDeleteWaiting to the last minute before heading home and then driving like the Indy 500.
DeleteHanging around for another few days will give you some additional rest time.
ReplyDeleteJust what I need.
DeleteAnother brilliant idea. You haven't lost too much of your mind...yet.
ReplyDeleteThere really never was too much to lose.
DeleteI'm actually glad I was at home for the holiday weekend! Enjoy your Cardinals! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, the Cardinals are easy to enjoy when they're winning.
