Revealed
Last night I was thinking that with all the folks on the edge of their seats it would be a shame if I left here and moved to my new destination and there was no WIFI or internet access available and everyone was still on the edge of their seats. So to end the suspense I am going to do the big reveal, When I leave here tomorrow morning I will be heading to the Rio Chama RV Park in Chama New Mexico for two nights. I have a reservation to ride the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad through the mountains on Friday. This will take me across Cumbres Pass, at 10,015 feet it's the highest railroad pass in the United States, and the on to Antonito, Colorado. A stop for lunch at Osier at the halfway point and a bus ride back to Chama will complete the day. Be sure and click the link above to find out more about the day ahead. I think there might be a photo op or two on the on this 64 mile journey through the mountains.

I've heard that's a wonderful trip. Glad you're getting to go. Hope your camera battery holds up. I did make a soft landing from my holding pattern, thanks to you, John. Now, I'll just hold my breath and see if you got some great photos!
ReplyDeleteShould be fun Russ.
DeleteLooks like you are going to have a marvelous day. We did the Silverton/Darango train. Great trip.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the photos.
I do railroads, this is one of the few that I hadn't done yet.
DeleteCome to Oregon...ride the Mt.Hood dinner train. Great ride!
DeleteI don't know if I'll work it in this year, but someday.
DeleteI loved it in Chama even if I gasped for air now and then. This will be very good.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine Barney at only 7800 feet, it's almost sea level.
DeleteI wanna go!
ReplyDeleteCan you be here by 8 o'clock in the morning?

ReplyDeletea good gargle will tide you over.
DeleteDonna tried gargling with tide, as you suggested, John, but now she's been having bad gas, and bubbles keep coming out of her nose.
DeleteHave fun, I've been wanting to do that train ride. More things to add to the list. Too many places to go, not enough time.
ReplyDeleteThat is sure true Teri.
DeleteThanks for doing the reveal early. Looking forward to hearing about that train ride.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteNow we need to see a picture of you in your train engineer's hat and coveralls!
ReplyDeleteI'm passenger, not crew.
