Smith Center Kansas

I am worn out. A little over 250 miles today brought me to Smith Center Kansas. It was a day of driving east with a 35 mile per hour wind coming from the south to keep my attention. A stop at the Goodland Wal-mart filled the pantry and then it was back on the road.

Smith Center is a football town. The local high school won the state 3A title in 1982, 1986 and 1999. Then they switched to 2-1A and won five consecutive state titles from 2004 through 2008. They also hold the national record for the most points scored in one quarter, having scored 72 points in one quarter in a game in 2007. I would say high school football rules in Smith Center.

Now it's time to relax a bit and get ready for tomorrows journey. Less wind would sure aid in enjoying the good life.
