This is golfers paradise around here. Every morning there is a steady stream of golfers out the gate and onto the fairways. The fact that the golf course abuts the RV park makes this an easy trek. My 80 year old neighbor Ed is one of them. He doesn't miss a day and he is one of those throwbacks, he walks the course, no cart for him. Seeing all the dedicated golfers around here reminds me of the two golfers who had a standing tee time every Saturday at 10:00 am, rain or shine. One Saturday as they were on a green bordering the highway a funereal procession passed by and the golfer that was ready to putt stopped what he was doing, stepped to the edge of the green, doffed his hat and stood silently as the precession proceeded past. When they had gone his partner remarked what a nice gesture that was. "it was the least I could do" said the first golfer, "after all we were married for 45 years".
Yesterday I finally broke down and ignited the air conditioner. The tipping point was when Mel's interior reached 95 degrees. Today it is supposed to be a little cooler so maybe Mr. Air won't be needed. More basketball to watch today as we proceed on enjoying the good life.
