A trip to Laredo

Yesterday's water outage turned into a small disaster for Mel. When the water came back on there was very little pressure and it takes pressure to operate the siphon breaker that regulates water to the toilet. When I returned to Mel after a walk I found water running out the door. After rushing to shut off the water I then had a two hour cleanup to get things back in order and dried out. The important lesson learned was that a three gallon toilet will not hold 20 gallons of water. Another lesson learned is to wait until the water system stabilizes before turning back on the plumbing.

Two new arrivals on the street yesterday. Bob and Connie from Colorado and John and Vada from Kansas arrived to help populate the street with more old friends. A couple more are scheduled in today so we'll have lots of new company to test the old tales on.

This morning it was time to head for Laredo for that much needed fill the pantry venture. Before I headed out I made a stop at The Zapata Health Clinic to get my Simvastatin prescription renewed and to do a little blood letting to check my overall well being for another year. I was please to find out that I had a pulse, blood pressure and a temperature somewhat that was above room temp. They also listened to my lungs and heart and it seems both are in operating order, another positive sign.

After that it was on to Laredo to empty the billfold. In exchange for cleaning out my billfold I will be able to eat well into the new year.

The rest of today will be spent visiting and enjoying the good life.
