Happy Birthday to Mel

On this day three years ago I was in Des Moines, Iowa meeting Mel for the first time. Since then Mel has been my constant companion and home on wheels as we traveled the states seeing the wonders of this great country. Together we have traveled 23,074 miles and been in 28 states.


As you can see, Mel has aged well and doesn't look any different than when we first got together. We have been fortunate, in this day of high tech communications, to be able to share our daily travels via the blog, which has been viewed over 50,000 times. Mel wants me to let you know how much fun we've had, how many sights we've seen, how many wonderful people we've met along the way and how glad we are to have you along with us.

The rest of today will be spent reflecting on Mel and me and how we have enjoyed the good life.

    Happy Birthday Mel, what a great companion. Following you blog for over a year now I seems like Mel has taken on a personality all his own. Nothing better than great travels with a great friend. I look forward to another year of traveling with you guys.
