6/10/2014 - 6/14/2014

Tuesday

The Cardinal game tonight was the third shutout in a row for the Cardinals. Final score 1-0.

The excitement today was limited to watching the thermometer climb to 3 digits.

I am able to report that the war of the ants ended as quickly as it began. After 24 hours of feasting on Terro the is nary a sign of the little critters.

Two day series with the Rays started today and the Cards won 1-0.

Wednesday
The tree trimming is well underway so I again have supervisory duties. There is a bit of a communication problem, but they seem to have an idea of what to do so my intervention is not needed.

Don't think climbing those trees is something that appeals to me.

Second game with the Rays not so good Cardinals lose 6-3

Thursday
A trip to Walmart this morning to pick up scripts was the order of the day. This was done early in the day.

The temp was again above 100 which limits outside activity until well after the sun goes down. Overnight low is still in the 80's

Friday
Another toasty day here in paradise and another shutout for the Cards. Good day all the way round.

More prep for the trip north next week. I've even begun the packing process. My plan is to empty the refrigerator and completely shut Mel down for the two weeks I'm gone. The plan is disconnect all the utilities, put away the hoses and pull in the slides. This will be the longest I've been away from Mel since I moved in full time in October of 2007.

Another in park rescue last night when Winnie stop by to tell me Lynn, a neighbor down the street was had fallen and was laying in the street. Lynn is not very steady on her feet and she has a rather large puppy that she had taken for a walk. Apparently the dog lurched and pulled her off her feet and she did a nosedive right into the pavement. Lots of blood, but no real damage. I got her back on her feet and into the house. I expect she is feeling it today.

Saturday
No Cardinal ballgame on my TV today as once again Fox is being selective with the game they are showing on the east and west feeds. I will follow the game on the computer.

Another 3 digit temperature today. Ready to head north.

  1. This heat is silly bad. You are catching it worse than we are here in Rockport. We are only seeing low 90s but morning is still low 80s. I hope to roll a bit north soon. Just don't know where to go yet. I will be following your blog for lots of details.

    1. I think it's because I'm the only one in the park that can lift the fallen.

  5. Not so sure I'd think it was paradise if it was toasty. I like paradise to be perfect -- not hot and not cold.
